PARTY PLANNING TIPS & IDEAS

 We all have reason to convene and celebrate birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, retirement, promotions etc.  Planning an event can be hectic or downright stressful, here are a few ideas that can alleviate the stress and make your next event a memorable one.

Event Checklist:

Tables: (round, rectangular, serpentine, highboy/cocktail) take space and capacity into consideration when choosing tables

Chairs: (regular folding, padded folding, wooden, banquet, barstool)

Linens: overlays, runners, table skirts, Napkins, Chair covers & sash for bows

 Dinnerware: charger plates, dinner plates, salad /luncheon plates, dessert plates, soup bowls, cup & saucer

Flatware: dinner knives & forks, salad & dessert forks, soup & tea spoon, butter knives

Glassware: water, champagne, red & white wine, all purpose wine, tumblers/highball

Serveware:  pitchers, coffee urns & makers, juice dispensers, chafing dishes, serving trays, serving spoons, forks tongs, salt & pepper shakers, cream & sugar holders, portable bars, waiter staff/bartender

Tents: with/without sidewalls, heating or air conditioning depend on time of year, lighting.  

We all want our event to be remembered and talked about, choose a location that suits the type of event you have in mind, this maybe a banquet hall, a backyard, or a boat.

Take into consideration the number of guest, parking, adequate restrooms, elevator and wheel chair accessible. Send invitations to your guest at least a month in advance (this may differ from case to case)

Emphasize dress code, formal, semi-formal, casual Menu- have a clear menu taking into consideration dietary needs, children, elderly, etc
